Mid Shore Community Mediation Center educates the public about alternative conflict resolution, recruits, trains, and supports volunteer community mediators, and empowers community members and groups to resolve conflict at the earliest possible point in a dispute.

Provides conflict resolution services free of charge to the community. Examples of disputes that go before mediators include: divorce & separation, child custody, parent/teenager conflicts, landlord/tenant, neighbor conflicts, and workplace disputes. Also offers re-entry mediation for inmates about to released from incarceration. This helps the inmate and family members resolve issues that might lead to recidivism. After the conflict is resolved, a written agreement is made or sometimes the problem just ends with a mutual understanding. Volunteers are being accepted for a variety of duties, including becoming mediators. MSCMC is currently engaged in school based mediation for conflicts in the Dorchester County School System.
