Conducts elections, assists persons seeking elective office with candidate filings and campaign reports, assists citizens wishing to place questions on ballots, maintains and preserves electoral information and records, provides electoral information to the public, and registers voters.

Eligibility

You must be a resident of Maryland in order to become a registered voter. You must also be a resident of Caroline County to be eligible to vote a regular ballot in Caroline County. Check our website at www.carolinemdelections.org to find out where your official polling place is located. You can also use our website to register for the first time, make changes to or update your voter registration record, get information on where and how to vote and find out about becoming an election judge. All first time registrants in the State of Maryland must provide a current Driver’s License number on the voter application. If you do not have a valid Maryland driver’s license or MVA ID card, you must provide the last 4 digits of your social security number.To register to vote, you must be:- A U.S. citizen- A Maryland resident; and- At least 16 years old, but cannot vote unless you will be at least 18 years old by the next general electionYou cannot have been:- Convicted of buying or selling votes;- Under guardianship for mental disability and found by a court to be unable to communicate a desire to vote; or- Convicted of a felony and currently serving a court-ordered sentence of imprisonment (Effective March 10, 2016)

Certain fees apply only to registered voters applying for lists of registered voters, etc. and to registered voters filing as a candidate for an elected office. Call the office for specific fees.
