The Denton Police Department consists of 13 sworn police officers and 2 civilian administrative aides. Department is involved in a number of other programs besides answering police calls. The Department sponsors ball teams, and assists with Boy Scouts and other community groups. Also provides bike registration. Denton Police Department has a program for youths from ages 13-17 years old called the "Denton Explorers Programs." They are an organization based on educational training and skill learning in order to further them in future endeavors of higher education whether it is law enforcement or other professions. Our Department also has a Med Return Drug Collection Unit in our front lobby where folks can drop off unwanted prescriptions Mon-Fri 8:00 - 4:00. This is a good way to get rid of old/unwanted prescriptions to keep away from Children and out of our water supply.
