Services Provided: 

Operates a thrift shop and a food pantry. Proceeds from the thrift shop fund the food pantry. If you are in need of food or clothing, please contact the Samaritan House directly and have ready the following 4 pieces of information: photo id; social security card for everyone in the household; proof of income (tax return, paystubs); and proof of Caroline County residency (utility bill, bank account).

Accepts donation of used clothing, books, toys, and household items in good condition. Recommended food list: tuna, beef stew, pork & beans, corned beef, soup, cereal, jello/pudding, canned milk, rice/beans, canned fruit & vegetables, applesauce, canned tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, dry spaghetti, peanut butter, jelly, juices, and box mixes of macaroni & cheese and tuna helper. The Samaritan House is a project of the interfaith group United Concerned Christians, and is run completely by volunteers. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Provides clothing, emergency food, eviction prevention assistance, and utility assistance to those in need. Please have the following for assistance: photo ID, social security numbers for everyone in the household, proof of income, proof of address, and your lease. Administers the Rental Assistance Program for Caroline County.

Thrift Store open to the public. The Thrift Shop is open from 8:00am - 12:00pm every 1st Saturday of the month. The furniture barn with re-open in the spring. Donations of clothing and small household items accepted M-Fri. 8:30-4:30. Bins available for donations 24 hours a day. Accept donations of clothing, toys, household items, and books. Items must be in good condition.

The United Way of Caroline County provides financial support to a broad range of programs and services that promote the quality of life where we live. The United Way supports a variety of County and regional nonprofits that care for the young, old, needy, and those suffering from serious illness.
The United Way does not make direct grants to individuals. All fund are provided through agencies to support their missions.
