Provides support to children, youth, and veterans through a variety of programs. Gives book scholarships to three high school students each year. Supports local charitable organizations, including the American Legion. Sponsors local high school juniors to attend the Girls State conference each year. Provides catering for American Legion Post Home #29. New officers installed in August. Meets 1st Thursday of the month, 7PM.
A Veterans organization that donates money to legal organizations and charities that send requests. To be considered for a donation, send a letter to the post with your 501c3 number and a committee will review it and make a decision. The Legion also runs scholarship programs and sponsors a yearly oratorical contest for high school seniors. Regular events: Bingo every Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Post hall available as a rental for events or as a meeting room. We offer many options to include having our Legion Auxiliary prepare your dinners and assist with planning of your venue. Accommodates up to 250 people. Special features: podium, p/a system, and WiFi. Alcoholic beverages must be purchased through American Legion. Ample parking in front of building. In addition to office hours at the main office in Easton (Monday through Friday), weekly outreach service is provided to the Cambridge office. Provides career and job counseling to qualifying veterans, including information on the labor market and jobs and employers in this area, assistance in tailoring skills and abilities to the job market, assistance with Hot Jobs and with the jobs listed locally, help using the Internet to expand your job searches, recommendations for training and education to qualify for better jobs and careers, information on Veteran job programs and training, assistance and instruction in use of the Resource Room facilities, resume preparation and critique, developing jobs for those Vets with barriers to employment, referral information on social service and family support, and links to Department of Veterans Affairs medical and benefits information.
