Partners In Care is an all volunteer organization whose mission is to help older adults remain in their homes. We do this by providing volunteer assistance with issues such as getting to a medical appointment, grocery shopping and Senior Advocacy to help seniors "navigate" in this every changing and fast paced society. In Caroline County the need is greater than we can serve with the current number of volunteers. WE DO NOT ASSIGN ANY RIDES, IT'S ALL STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. You chose which tasks you would like to do and we make the arrangements. ALL MEMBERS (RIDERS OR DRIVERS) MUST PASS A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK. Volunteers are COVERED BY OUR VOLUNTEER INSURANCE POLICY. Members who request services must be 50 or older, be ambulatory, AND a good neighbor. A representative of PIC visits the person requesting services in their home to be sure they are eligible. Membership eligibility is NOT INCOME BASED and members must sign a Release of Liability form and a membership agreement. We do no bathing, lifting or anything medical. We like to be able to provide Caroline County Seniors at least 2 rides a month and requests must be made at least 7 to 14 working days in advance. (We do not do emergency requests for contagious sickness.) We think we've pretty much thought of everything you would need to volunteer to help older adults in Caroline County and we hope you will join us. WE NEED YOUR HELP, If you can give us a few hours each week or each month we can do this together We meet at the Library once a month for informing and orientation of volunteers. A notice will be posted announcing the meetings and an RSVP would be very helpful.
