Caroline County Department of Planning and Codes Administration

To identify and plan for the appropriate scale, type and location for the county's future residential growth, public facilities, and economic development while working to preserve out important agricultural industry and natural resources.
Services Provided: 

Codes Administration has the responsibility of enforcing the following ordinances: Zoning Ordinance, Erosion and Sediment Control Ordinance, Stormwater Management Ordinance, Minimum Livability Code, Chesapeake Bay Critical Areas Program, Comprehensive Addressing, International Building Code for residential and commercial buildings, and the Forest Conservation Code. The Planning Office is responsible for overseeing and directing the physical development of the County. The office also oversees the licensing of establishments selling alcoholic beverages (liquor), including those at special events; issuing licenses for plumbers, electricians, and salvage yards; and county agricultural land preservation. Also issues building permits.
