Adkins Arboretum

Purpose: 
Adkins Arboretum, a 400-acre native garden and preserve, promotes the conservation and restoration of the Chesapeake Bay region's landscapes. As a model for land management and ecological restoration, the Arboretum fosters community engagement and inspires the adoption of land stewardship practices for a healthier and more beautiful world.
Services Provided: 

This 400-acre preserve is located on the Tuckahoe Creek and includes portions of the region's most significant wetlands. Offers five miles of walks, education programs, art exhibits, lectures, workshops, garden tours, and Nursery Hours same as Visitor Center May 1st through November1st. Public amenities include a visitor's center with gift shop, library, and meeting room. Many volunteer opportunities available. Preschool gives free tuition to families living in Caroline County through a community grant.
Visitor's center open Guided Nature Walks 1st Saturday of every month 10:00am. Meeting Rooms Gallery rental is minimum 3 hours for $75.00 and maximum $150.00 for 8 hours. Rentals are during normal hours of Tuesday - Friday 10:00 - 4:00. Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Break is Christmas Eve through December 31.
