Ridgely Lions Club

Purpose:
Since 1917, Lions have served the world's population through hard work and commitment to make a difference in the lives of people everywhere. Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired. Lions International is the largest service organization in the world with more than 1.4 million members in over 200 nations and territories.
Services Provided:

The Ridgely Lions serve the Ridgely community in many ways to include, but not limited to: assistance with eye exams and eyeglasses for those in need (applications are available at Ridgely Elementary School, St. Martins Ministries, the Health Department and Department of Social Services); the Strawberry Festival; the Christmas Parade (the first Saturday in December); placement of decorative/seasonal banners throughout town; sponsorship of baseball and soccer teams; and three $1000 scholarships to Ridgely area college-bound students. We also make donations to many charitable organizations and youth groups throughout the community. As part of Lions International we make yearly donations to the Low Vision Research Center (The Wilmer Eye Clinic at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD) and the Lions Leader Dog Program.
