Fees apply for services. Medicaid accepted. Sliding scale set by Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. VA pays for two days per week for approved veterans. Also,the program receives reimbursement from respite programs.

Caroline Medical Adult Day Care

Purpose: 
To provide comprehensive services to maintain and enhance one's quality of life in the least restrictive setting. The goal is to keep patients deinstitutionalized and to facilitate them remaining in a community setting.
Services Provided: 

Patients are offered recreational therapy,art therapy, music therapy, socialization, financial assistance, personal and respite care for Alzheimer's patients. Therapeutic activities include arts and crafts, outings, cooking demos, games and exercise, parties and music, pet therapy, and word trivia. Two meals and one snack are served daily. There is also a beauty shop/barbershop for nail care and shampoos. Transportation is provided to and from the program, to outings, and to doctor appointments in Denton. Patient's health needs are monitored by nursing staff, and emotional health needs are monitored by a social worker. Volunteers accepted and always welcomed, experience works - volunteers available for those 55 and over that wish to volunteer at the MADC. There is a Caregiver's support group on the first Monday of the month from 12:30 - 1:30, all are welcome, questions call Carole Friend 410-479-8065.

Eligibility: 
Must be a MD resident, aged 16 or older, under a physician's care, have health, physical, or mental needs, and be at risk for institutional care. Capacity for the program is 67 patients daily.
